Afro-Cuban Drumming

Catherine Welsh has been a public school elementary teacher in the Rogue Valley since 1985. She specializes in teaching music to children using the Orff-Schulewerk approach but has an active interest in many types of music, particularly chamber music and Afro-Cuban drumming. Through the Central Point school district, Ms. Welsh offers a student Afro-Cuban drumming group that meets Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. This class is open to students in grades 5-10.

Catherine has been a violist with the Rogue Valley Symphony since 1990 and has played in private chamber groups throughout her teaching career. Currently she is a string quartet member of the Caprice Ensemble. You may reach Catherine at:
