![]() Swing Band, Jazz Band, Dance Band all rolled up into one. That's Journey's End Jazz Band based in Medford, Oregon. It is a regional band content to ply its trade in Southern Oregon, but it will also travel under certain conditions. Journey's End uses no music charts, yet can play most tunes ever written. It was originally a traditional jazz band specializing in New Orleans type jazz and it enjoyed a fine reputation throughout the Pacific Northwest, being featured in several jubilees in Washington and Oregon. Shifts in personnel and a change in direction molded the band into its current form, a group that plays big band music on a small scale. Journey's End plays Swing music, Dixieland jazz, and Latin rhythms, all with a fun attitude geared toward entertaining audiences. And it also excels with dance music at its absolute best, from ballads to foxtrots, rhumba to the mambo and tango, slow and fast waltzes, and swing, swing, swing. The band's strength lies in the individual talents of its members who bring a vast musical background into the mix. Group members are: Larry Bernard (Valve and Slide Trombone), Larry Cavalier (Piano and Vocals), Joe Diamond (Trumpet and Vocals), Al Erickson (Drums), Gene Galien (Guitar), Larry Lewis (Clarinet, alto sax), Bruce McKern (Bass), and Gayle Wilson (Vocalist). Journey's End Jazz Band members can enliven any party or event of any kind with their very relaxed form of entertainment.
