![]() Kendra Law has been teaching violin and fiddle in the Rogue Valley since 1990. Her method of teaching makes strong use of the Suzuki approach but also incorporates many other enjoyable materials. Kendra's background includes academic classes at S.O.U., training with Ozzie Leonard at Colorado University, a variety of Suzuki Institutes, and lessons with master teachers Sherry Kloss and Faina Podolnaya. Fiddling is of special interest to Kendra and she has studied with fiddle teachers Alister Frazier, Mark O'Conner and Buddy McMaster (father and teacher of Natalie). Each summer, at her country home in Ashland, Kendra offers a two-week fiddling camp that provides students with an enjoyable release from the structure of classical studies. Students perform a variety of styles at local marketplaces and money earned is put toward student activities at the end of camp such as river rafting trips or camp-outs. In addition to being the musical director of the Young Fiddlers and a private teacher, Kendra Law is the author of a series of activity books for string instruments and is a performing member of the Caprice Ensemble of Ashland.
