![]() Each summer, at her country home in Ashland, Kendra Law offers a two-week fiddling camp that provides young students with an enjoyable release from the structure of their classical violin studies. Students learn a variety of fiddling styles, play fiddle tunes from around the world, and fiddle in nature. During the second week, students take field trips and perform at local marketplaces. Money earned is put toward activities at the end of camp such as river-rafting trips or camp-outs. Kendra Law is a private teacher and a performing member of the Caprice Ensemble of Ashland. She has been teaching violin and fiddle in the Rogue Valley since 1985 and her camps have been a favorite for kids as they learn to enjoy the fun and joy of fiddling. Ms. Law has studied with fiddle teachers Alister Frazier, Mark O'Conner, and Buddy McMaster (father and teacher of Natalie). |
