Walker Kermode

Walker Kermode started playing the bassoon at the age of ten while living on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii. He has been principle chair in the Maui and Redding Symphonies, and currently enjoys performing with the Rogue Valley Symphony. Walker is in demand as a Chamber bassoonist and as a Concerto soloist. Currently living in Ashland, Oregon, Walker’s livelihood is established by being an inspiring Music Educator and performer. Walker has over fifteen years experience teaching in the private setting and twelve years experience teaching band, choir, and general music in the public classroom. He has also been the bassoon instructor at Southern Oregon University from 1995 until the present. Walker regularly coaches double-reed instruments for the local youth symphony and high school honor band. In his spare time Walker balances his musical activities with his small businesses/interests in photography, woodturning, mountain biking, long distance road cycling, and windsurfing. Walker is currently teaching all woodwind and brass instruments out of his studio in Ashland.
