Mary Malolepszy


Mary Malolepszy is a versatile and uplifting performer on pedal harp. Her repertoire includes jazz favorites as well as classical and new age music. She has graced the Rogue Valley with her beautiful and harmonious harpistics since 1993, performing at numerous weddings, parties, restaurants, festivals, and memorial services. Mary features unique original arrangements of a variety of jazz and pop standards, such as "What The World Needs Now Is Love", "Moon River", "East Of The Sun", "Tammy", "It Had To Be You", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Popsicle Toes", and "How Deep Is The Ocean", to name a few. She also performs lovely harp transcriptions of classical favorites by Debussy (Clair de lune, The Maid with the Flaxen Hair), Satie (Gymnopedies, Gnossiennes), Dvorak (Largo), Pachelbel (Canon in D), Faure (Pavane), and others. Mary has studied sound healing with Don Campbell (author of the best selling book The Mozart Effect), and she is a graduate of Campbell's Music Institute for Health and Education. She also studied the Helen Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music with Stephanie Merritt, author of Mind, Music, and Imagery. Mary has volunteered her music to soothe numerous hospice patients, and has given classes in sound healing using the harp, voice, and guided imagery. She has also taught harp students from ages 7 to 76 in the Rogue Valley since 1995 on both Celtic (folk) harp as well as classical (pedal) harp. Mary enhances any occasion with her elegant tapestries in harp.
