![]() "Your tone Your voice can ignite you! It describes you from the inside out. The more you sing ‘you’ from the depths of your being, the more of your beauty and healing energy you and the world receive. You become more present upon the earth, and that presence blesses us all. Let us uncover your expression!" Meredith McFadden has newly re-located here to Southern Oregon from Portland, Oregon and is very excited to engage in a wide array of musical offerings-including teaching superb artistry in performance, focusing on the healing and therapeutic aspects of sound and expressive arts, and having a ball igniting the beauty of performance in this valley. Having taught voice since 1985, Meredith holds bachelor degrees in Voice/Theatre/Dance from Western Oregon University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling-Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. In her early years Meredith performed with professional companies in the Northwest such as The Willamette Master Chorus, Spokane Civic Theatre, Mid-Valley Opera Association and Portland Opera. She has also held numerous lead roles in musical theatre productions and draws from all of these to enhance the learning environment when in the voice studio. Meredith’s main commitment is to remind students to play! Because students often have a lot of new things to integrate, they will sometimes become too serious. At such times, she’ll stop and remind them to have focus AND fun. She especially delights in the joy singers experience as they build confidence in their singing. Meredith has also taught both music and drama in public and private schools here in Oregon from 1990-2006. Meredith also became certified in Sound Healing Therapy from Tom Kenyon-world renowned Sound Healer, of the Acoustic Brain Institute. She is very excited to share these new orientations and techniques, and has been teaching Sound as Medicine, and, Sound Moves~Sound Prayer workshops throughout the Northwest. This has been especially popular at NCNM (Naturopathic College of Natural Medicine) in Portland, OR. Please look at Meredith’s website for more detailed info+background.
