The Piano Conservatory of the Rogue Valley is dedicated to providing the highest quality piano and keyboard instruction to students of all ages. The Piano Conservatory offers both private and group lessons, and classes are offered in several different locations. Private lessons are generally held on a weekly basis and group classes usually run for a term of four to six weeks. There are special summer sessions offered in sight-reading, ear training, and musical notation. Summer group classes meet several days a week for four to six weeks. The Piano Conservatory of the Rogue Valley is operated by master teachers Marion Hunt and Dawn Lowell. Marion Hunt has had an extensive background in the world of music. Mr. Hunt was a piano student of concert artist Percy Granger and he studied at the Julliard School of Music, Claremont Graduate School, the University of California, and San Jose State University. Several years were spent in both England and France studying with private teachers in Conservatory Training. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogue. Teaching experiences include the Interlochen Center for the Arts, University of Michigan, and public school piano laboratories in Oakland, California and San Jose public schools. Mr. Hunt has maintained a private studio in the Rogue Valley since 1990. He holds lifetime State and National Certifications from the National Music Teachers Association. His students participate in the Oregon Music Teachers Association Syllabus Program, incorporating performance, theory, technique and sight-reading. Dawn Lowell has been in the piano business since 1985 in the Rogue Valley as a piano and keyboard teacher, piano tuner, and business owner. Dawn is a current member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and holds a B.S. degree with a Concentration in Music from the University of New York. Ms. Lowell continues to study with Mr. Hunt and her previous music lesson study includes the University of California at Santa Cruz and RCC. Teaching experience includes studio work with private piano and keyboard students and school teaching for the Adult Education Program in the Monterey Unified School District. Ms. Lowell especially enjoys working with beginning students of all ages. Mr. Hunt and Ms. Lowell have individual studios and divide their students depending upon grade level and locations of the individual students. Group piano instruction is held at Larry's Music, 1105 N. Riverside in Medford, Oregon. |
