![]() The Rogue Valley Harmonizers, a men’s barbershop chorus, has more than 50 members from across southern Oregon and northern California. We are the Rogue Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), and we love to sing! The national society has more than 800 chapters and 30,000 members world wide. Barbershop harmony is sung in 52 countries of the world. If you are a man and are interested in singing with us, the Harmonizers meet every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 8th and Holly Streets in Medford, on the second floor of the church. Visitors are always welcome. Join us as we rehearse for upcoming performances, learn new music, learn new vocal techniques, and listen to established quartets. Sing with the chorus or do impromptu quartetting with us if you’d like! Our music director is Don Meeker. He holds degrees in Music Education and Music Performance from Southern Oregon University. Don has directed the Harmonizers since 1990. The Rogue Valley Harmonizers perform in competitions with other barbershop choruses from the Northwest as well as for benefit shows, local high schools, a yearly cabaret show, Christmas programs, various organizational events and for two annual shows. We put on a formal two-hour show every year in Medford (normally at the Craterian Theater) and another show in Grants Pass. The shows feature the chapter’s chorus and quartets, as well as guest performers. Our repertoire ranges from traditional favorites to patriotic, spiritual, rhythm, and other types of songs. If you are interested in having the Rogue Valley Harmonizers chorus, and/or one of their quartets perform for your organization or event, please call Bob Hall at (541) 857-6557 (Home) or (541) 830-3000 (Work), or visit our website at www.rvharmonizers.org for more information. We will be happy to discuss performance formats and fees for what you have in mind. |
