Rogue Valley Peace Choir

The Rogue Valley Peace Choir was organized in September 2003 and currently has 140 members. The mission of the Choir is to focus energy, voices, and music in a way that will inspire peace among the singers, their families, community, nation, and world. Choir members endeavor to model good communication skills, showing respect and compassion for others regardless of race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disabilities, musical level or political persuasion. Through music, the choir shares its message of peace, equality, social justice, and responsible stewardship of our planet.

Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at Havurah Shir Hadash in Ashland. The choir's director, Dave Marston, has been actively involved in the Rogue Valley music community for many decades. The Choir gives six to eight public performances a year including a Spring concert, participation in the November concert held at the Angus Bowmer Theater entitled "Celebrations of the Human Spirit", one at Ashland's July 4th festivities, as well as performances given in response to invitations from community events that are aligned with the choir's mission. The choir opens to new members on specific dates in September of each year.
