![]() The SchoolHouse Retreat & Cultural Center offers beautiful and unique accommodations for persons wishing to host retreats, concerts, or other private events. Located at 8448 Wagner Creek Road in Talent, Oregon, The SchoolHouse Retreat & Cultural Center provides first-rate facilities in a lovely setting suited for small intimate groups or larger outdoor gatherings. The SchoolHouse first opened its doors in 1929 as the Wagner Creek School, a grand two-classroom building. In 1951 the Wagner Creek School closed and in the years following its closure, the schoolhouse went through a series of owners and declining use. In 1975, the Beveridge family purchased the property and used it as both home and studio while the family members began a nine-year process of restoring the old school to prime condition and securing its placement on the National Historic Registry. The property still retains the charm of a bygone era but also has two new buildings and modern amenities including nineteen public rooms and seven bathrooms. There is a studio theater ideally suited for performances, receptions, exhibits, and dance and movement classes, and a smaller Salon furnished with a piano and comfortable couches and chairs. There is a library room, a garden room with expansive windows, a redesigned kitchen/dining space, five graciously appointed guestrooms, Jacuzzi facilities, and a lovely garden area. In one of the new buildings, the 1,400 square foot "Pavillion", the main Terrace Room provides seating for up to 60 guests and its large windows and French doors open onto lovely gardens and towering trees. There is a small conference room there also and a breakaway room with set-up facilities for caterers. Whether you are attending a retreat or hosting your own event, spending the day or staying for several, youšll find The SchoolHouse Retreat & Cultural Center welcoming, comfortable, and accommodating.
