The Southern Oregon Sound chapter of Sweet Adelines International was organized in September of 1995 and became an official member in 1997. Currently our group has approximately thirty members and we perform for special birthdays, conventions, parties, parades, kickoffs, Christmas get-togethers, picnics, and other functions where quality singing and performing is requested. We have had several Christmas shows, as well as singing for hospitals, retirement homes, Festival of Trees, and other holiday festivities. As a part of an international organization, we are able to participate in music schools, conventions, and regional contests that are organized by the International staff. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights weekly, year-round, at 7 pm at the Rogue Valley Christian Church at 1440 S. Oakdale Ave in Medford. We concentrate on making average singers better. Many of our members have little background in reading music but we have proven that with good tools and a willingness to learn and work, we can create the atmosphere for attaining excellence. We attempt to release the "Broadway Performer" that is hiding in so many of us. We LOVE TO PERFORM! Our repertoire includes favorites from many decades and encompasses gospel, broadway tunes, patriotic, and many songs that will bring wonderful musical memories to everyone that listens.
