Tish McFadden


Tish McFadden is a private music teacher in Ashland, Oregon who specializes in teaching young beginners (adults too) on guitar, piano and flute. She founded Rum Tum Music Company in 1988 and finds music a wonderful and rewarding vehicle for developing a person's self esteem, creativity, poise, confidence, and communication. Tish directs the Rum Tum Children's Peace Choir for ages ten and under during the school year. Her singers perform for parades, nursing homes, community events, and for the general public. Tish is also co-founder/co-director of Fine Arts at EarthTeach, a summer day camp for youth focusing on dance, music, theater, writing and visual arts in a mountain setting. She has been singing and writing original songs for elementary-age classrooms since 1991 in Ashland, and her works include the official Lincoln School Song "I Sing for Lincoln" and numerous curriculum-specific songs on such topics as geology, Africa, weather, trees and community. In addition, Tish has written the theme song for the annual "Relay for Life" for cancer awareness. During the 2004-05 school year, Tish was the resident musician for the SOU Preschool and also the Children's World Montessori Preschool in Ashland, Oregon. Tish performs with the Viva Voce Band and Rum Tum Music and songs from her recordings have been nationally featured on public radio's "Musical Enchanter Radio Theater." Her recordings are available on cassette or CD.
